Claire Martin has been a driving force behind the UK jazz scene for the past 25 years and has won many accolades, including a British Jazz Award no less than six times.
Claire is accompanied by top class musicians such as Arnie Somogyi, Mornington Lockett and Paul Stacey (guitarist with the Black Crowes), who also produced the album. John Martyn, recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards 2008, shares vocal duties with Claire on his own song Man In The Station. My CD Collection was "REALLY IN NEED OF THIS CD!!!!Ĭonsidered that most tracks were the 70s and 80s recording. OF COURSE! ***** "Sultans Of Rock" ***** BEST OF ALL! Every track is "PURE ROCK AND ROLL" at its BEST. It was not the original single version that was released in the UK I dont know why they keep using the original album version of "Sultans Of Swing" for all these "Greatest Hits" type releases. This is the way I can listen to bluesy country! This is so pure, so un-british,they are far underrated and timeless. If you like Dire Straits you are going to LOVE this album - I certainly do!!!Ī must have in any music lovers collection
